Working
Holiday Abroad
Working Holiday is this
program that gives carte blanche to French
nationals to travel abroad on holidays in
a country that uses this program for
employment purposes, particularly young
people between 18 and 30 years. Here are
some good reasons for choosing this
program.
Countries using it, give an opportunity
for young people to enter the country with
a working holiday Visa (VVT). These are
among others, Australia, New Zealand,
Korea, Japan, and Singapore. Each has its
own rules and its own operating principle.
In general, the goal of working holiday in
the five countries mentioned is the same:
Allow French under 35 to visit the
country, discover new people, live an
international experience in one year.
In Australia, young VVT holders can visit
the country (for 12 months), work even as
a student without exceeding six months
with the same employer, follow a
theoretical and practical training over a
period of 4 years before returning to
France.
This program is designed to compensate the
shortage of manpower in Australian
businesses, not skilled jobs, but jobs or
occasional small jobs, paid by the
performance (Harvest and picking fruit,
apples, pears etc.).
As such, the opportunity offered by the
Working Holiday to work in Australia is
that there is no obligation to have
related skills for the chosen job, or a
perfect command of English.
Regarding taxes, holders of a Working
Holiday Visa are considered non-tax
residents by the welcoming State.
Holiday Working Conditions:
How to enrol to this program? That is the
question that young people who aspire to
this program can make. The Working Holiday
Visa is easy to obtain. Access visa
application is done online, by filing a
form on the Australian embassy website,
Korean, or other country outside the host
country, providing a valid passport and no
dependent children for the trip.
