ROAD
CONSTRUCTION
SPECIALIST
in Butembo,
Democratic
Republic of
Congo
The post is to
be occupied
from 1 January
2009 and the
term of the
employment
contract
initially runs
until 31
December
2009.
An extension is
envisaged.
The project
envisages
rehabilitating
the
infrastructure
(rural system
of routes,
bridge
con-struction,
drainage
systems, and
social
infrastructure)
With limited
use of
machinery and
by using HIMO
methods.
Here the aim is
to reopen old
commercial
routes and
hence promote
the marketing
of agricultural
products as
well as to
support the
return and
reintegration
of
ex-combatants.
Objective
and tasks and
duties of the
post
As a
specialist you
contribute
towards the
success of the
Welthungerhilfe
project by
imple-menting
project
measures in
compliance
With the
stipulated
organisational,
temporal,
con-tractual
and financial
guidelines.
You are in
charge of the
responsible
supervision and
im-plementation
of the entire
rehabilitation
activities in
the
intervention
area of the
project.
Your most
important tasks
and duties:
Implementing
the co-financed
measures in
cooperation and
agreement with
the project
manager
Documenting the
measures in
compliance with
the guidelines
of the
co-financing
donor as
preparatory
work for the
project manager
and the project
administration
in Goma
Managing the
local project
personnel and
providing them
with informal
training and
supervising
local
specialists
Preparing
project
progress
reports for the
co-financing
donor and
Welthungerhilfe
As qualified
applicant you
have
Qualifications
in road
construction
from a
university or
university of
applied
science
Several years
of professional
experience and
preferably also
experience
abroad
The ability to
cooperate and
work in a
team
Computer skills
(Office
suite)
Very good
spoken French
language skills
and preferably
also written
skills.
German and
English
language skills
would be an
advantage
We offer you
